Ingredients
- ¤ 2 Cup(s) of Whole Wheat Flour
- ¤ 1 Tablespoon of Methi leaves (Fenugreek leaves), Known as "Kasuri methi". Available in any Indian grocery store
- ¤ 1/2 Teaspoon of Turmeric powder
- ¤ 1 Teaspoon of Red Chili Powder (cayenne powder)
- ¤ 2 Teaspoon of Salt
- ¤ 1 Tablespoon of Cilantro leaves
- ¤ 2-3 Cloves of Garlic (Optional), Crush them
- ¤ 1 Teaspoon of Sesame Seed (Optional)
- ¤ Water, to knead the dough
- ¤ 2 Tablespoon of Whole Wheat Flour, to dust while rolling the bread
Instructions
1) Take the flour in a big bowl. Crush the methi (fenugreek) leaves in the palm and mix them with the flour.
2) Add all the spices to the mixture
3) If adding garlic, crush it and add to the flour
4) If adding sesame seeds, add it at this point
5) Add the cilantro leaves
6) Pour some water and start kneeding the dough. It should be a hard dough in order to roll out a flat bread. Apply some oil to the dough.
7) Take a wet towel and put it on the dough and let it rest for half an hour.
8) Make equal size of balls and roll out the ball with dusting some flour on the counter.
9) Roast in on a flat pan allowing to roast both the sides of bread.
10) Apply some oil on both the sides of the bread to make it crispy.
11) Serve hot with curd/kethchup/butter/indian pickle.
(Note: It can also be eaten cold. This bread has a longer shelf life.)
