The Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC is famous for its elegant tea. As soon as my mom and I sat down we were each served a footed dish of strawberries and cream and given a tea menu. We splurged on a glass of champagne before the tea. Then with the tea we received this 3-tiered serving...
Sandwiches on the bottom: curry chicken, cucumber, carrot & cream cheese, smoked salmon, and mushroom pate on crostini.
Scones in the middle, with devonshire cream and strawberry jam.
On top, the desserts: Earl Grey shortbread, lemon meringue tarts, cherry chocolate mousse in chocolate cup, chocolate cake with cream & chocolate ganache, marzipan-wrapped checkerboard cake.
It's definitely a splurge event, but fun to do!

Liisa · Yes, it's a set deal, something like $50 apiece...and I paid that big exchange rate too, when the US dollar was only 97 cents Canadian!
