Jaiku Invites
Hey everyone. Are you familiar with micro-blogging? This idea was popularized by Twitter, but a whole bunch of other services have sprung up to compete. It's a weird-sounding thing at first, but makes more sense once you try it out a few times.
Essentially, you can send little blurby updates what you're doing at the moment. Simple stuff, like where you're on your way to, how you're feeling, brainstorms, etc. These messages get saved on your stream, and anyone who is subscribed to your stream can see them, and can even get notified on their phone.
I know some folks here use Twitter a fair bit, but since Twitter has been having its share of ups and downs lately, we thought we might give another service a shot.
Jaiku is out of London, and is run by Finnish people, I think. The service is pretty neat, and it's invite-only right now. We have a new "FoodProof Channel" running there, which you can check out here: #foodproof on Jaiku . Right now, it's just a couple of us, but the channel can collect updates from anyone who joins it. It also pulls in the latest videos and blogs, so you can receive updates about new stuff on the site.
The point of all of this, is that we have some invites we'd like to send out. If you think you might use this service, or are just interested in checking it out, leave a comment here and we'll send an invite your way. This tool is really appealing, and has some things that Twitter doesn't. Plus it's not broken as often (or at all, really).

I listed my number as +15105551212 in that format with a +1 before the area code.
